The Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, has introduced a regal plaque to afrobeats star Rema.

The Oba gave over the plaque during Rema’s visit to his palace on Thursday, not long before Rema’s show at Ogbe Stadium in Benin City.

On Wednesday, Rema was available with Governor Godwin Obaseki at the pivotal service at Edo Arena.

The Governor uncovered that the 6,000-limit field would be named Rema Arena to respect the singer.

Rema, whose genuine name is Divine Ikubor, hails from Benin City. He gladly addresses Edo State by displaying its way of life and the historical backdrop of the antiquated Benin realm through his music and exhibitions.

His newest song, “Benin Boys,” features another Edo artist, Shallipopi, and serves as a tribute to Benin City.

In the tune, Rema noticed that he merits a decoration from the Oba for his job in advancing the realm.
