Nigerian Afrobeats craftsman Rema, whose name is Heavenly Ikubor, has gotten consideration on X (previously Twitter) after a user guaranteed he sampled an Indian tune in his new hit ‘Azaman’.
The controversy started when the user shared a video comparing Rema’s song to the Indian song “Chudaka Chudaka,” showing their similarities.
Rema’s “Azaman,” from his second studio album HEIS, has achieved great success, but claims of sampling have sparked debates online.
The user pointed out that the melody of “Azaman” sounds a lot like an Indian song. This comparison gained more attention with a video on Instagram that played both songs side by side.
