Nigerian singer Charly Boy honoured his late dad, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa, on what might have been his birthday.


On September 22, 2024, he shared a contacting message on Instagram alongside a progression of photographs of them together, showing his adoration and appreciation for the impact his dad had on him.


He wrote, “This is for my hard/loving late father; we love and miss you so much Dad. Today being your special day, I just want to say how much we miss you and thank you for shaping me into the person I am today. If no be the rough way u take follow me, i for don lost.”


“Heaven is lucky to have you. Happy Birthday dad, I’ll never forget everything you did for me and my siblings and how much you went out of your way for us all. Ur name will never be forgotten; we will make sure of that. Help hail dis Daddy, over try worry am,” he added.






Charly Boy has frequently discussed his rough relationship with his dad during his life as a youngster.


In a 2023 episode of The Legitimate Bundle Web recording, he shared what his father’s solid strict convictions meant for his childhood, directing him toward a day to day existence that he later perceived wasn’t ideal for him.


During the meeting, the singer pondered his troubles in satisfying his father’s assumptions and his strict childhood. He noticed that his brief time frame at the theological college finished when he found that the excursion to becoming a reverend dad didn’t fit who he truly was.


Later, in September 2024, on the With Chude digital broadcast, he uncovered that his concerns with power started at home, especially with his dad. He conceded that their relationship was tense for quite a while, and they simply began to see each other as grown-ups.
