New findings reveal that Nigerian movie actor John Paul Odunodo (aka Junior Pope) did not have a life jacket, contrary to reports on the internet that he was killed in Anambra on April 10 before an accident in a boat on the Annan River that killed him and four others.


Prince Uvo Kevin Oghogho, the chairman of the Association of Nigerian Workers (AGN), which is investigating the disaster, has denied that the actor was given a life jacket by the sailor`s boat.


He said: The late actor did not wear a life jacket. He noted that only two passengers, the director of photography and the music producer, were wearing a life jacket.

The Oghogho recommended that the Ministry of Transport or the Ministry of Inland Waterways ensure that all passengers wear life jackets before boarding.


“We also need to educate our colleagues about security measures because we like to take risks,” he said. The funeral of the young Pope took place in his home town of Okehe, Nsukka, Igbotiti Local Government Area of ​​Enugu State.
