Toke Makinwa, a Nollywood entertainer and media figure, has censured individuals who are utilizing the continuous statewide protest to waste and vandalize individual Nigerians’ property.
Recall that on Thursday, August 1, a cross-segment of Nigerians walked out to begin a protest against the country’s serious financial hardship.
According to reports, some gangsters utilized the tranquil protest to loot government and confidential property in various parts of the country.
Makinwa responded on her X handle, saying it was inappropriate.
She called attention to that individuals whose properties were being looted are going through similar troubles. Toke Makinwa expressed:
“Destroying properties and stealing from your fellow Nigerians who are passing through the same hardship is not right at all. This is very sad,”
She also composed:
“I did not say the stealing and vandalism was done by protesters, the people who have their things stolen are Nigerians too, going through the same hardship. What have they done to deserve this?”
“As most of us don awake from our slumber in the realization say gofment no care for us, no send us, we no go gree for people wey no gree for us. We must keep fighting to retrieve our stolen future.
“Let’s keep the pressure up, because this devilish government must understand that the tide is changing.
They should at absolutely no point ever have a good sense of reassurance in the future, except if dey begin doing the needful.
