- Nigerian-South African beauty queen Chidimma Adetshina opened up about her personal challenges in the world of pageantry.
- During an interview on the Big Friday Show with Tacha, a star from Big Brother Naija, she discussed how her dual citizenship led to identity struggles.
- Chidimma mentioned that her ambition to be Miss Universe motivated her to enter pageantry as a full-time professional.
Chidimma mentioned that her desire to be Miss Universe roused her to enter display as a full-time calling.
“I think it’s something I started recently; however, I’ve had this dream since 2017 to become the next Miss Universe. I’m really glad I have been given the platform and the opportunity to at least try and reach that goal,” she said.
She referenced that her character emergencies in some cases influence her on an individual level.
“I think for me, it has been a long journey. It has been so hard, I won’t lie, there were times when I would cry myself to sleep and be like, ‘Why me? I want it to end.’ There are times when I think that we have to look at the positive side when difficulties like this happen. I also had to change my mindset and see that maybe more of this greatness is coming as well.” she responded.
This interview happened after Chidimma pulled out from the Miss South Africa event on the grounds that the South African Work space claimed that her mom was engaged in extortion and fraud.
She likewise experienced a critical reaction from South Africans after being reported as a competitor. After her departure, Silverbird, responsible for the Miss Universe Nigeria exhibition, welcomed her to join, and she acknowledged the deal.
