- The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested a Yahoo boy in Abuja, accused of detaining a young woman for alleged money rituals.
- The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) operatives were responsible for the arrest.
- FCT Police Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh confirmed that the police are awaiting the formal handover of the suspect from the NSCDC.
The case acquired broad consideration following the course of a video on social media, which portrayed a young lady bound inside a room. It was guaranteed that the suspect had held her hostage at the Top View Inn situated in Wuse, Abuja, as a feature of a ceremonial practice.
“Findings revealed that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken the suspect into custody and are yet to hand over to the police for diligent investigation.
“The FCT Police Command, for all intents and purposes, awaits the NSCDC to hand over all parties for the commencement of diligent and discreet investigation. Further developments will be communicated in due course,” Police PRO stated.
