Fast-rising artist BoyPee has shared insights regarding the inclusion of Davido in the remix of his track “Ogechi,” which was finalized the evening prior to his wedding.
The remix, including Davido, was sent off on June 25, aligning with the date of his customary wedding service.
“Ogechi,” a collaboration among BoyPee, Hyce, and Brown Joel, was initially released in May.
The triplet explained this joint effort during a new meeting on HipTV, examining the conditions that prompted Davido’s contribution to the task.
BoyPee described getting a call from the Cubana chief Priest, a friend of Davido, who expanded a greeting for himself and his teammates, demonstrating that the eminent craftsman wished to meet with them.
Subsequently, they convened in the studio to record the remix of “Ogechi” while Davido was simultaneously preparing for his wedding.
“We mixed the song before morning and dropped it the next day. Having Davido on the remix was crazy. Cubana Chief Priest called me on video and asked me where I was.
“I told him I was on the road on my way to somewhere and Cubana told me that David wanted to talk to me.
“When I saw David, I just started shouting. He was talking to me and laughing but I couldn’t listen to what he was saying. The only thing I heard was that I should come to Cubana’s house.“So we had to rush and meet up with him and that was how the remix happened. When we got to the house, he asked them to take us to the studio that night.
“We mixed the song before morning and dropped the song the next day. He was planning his wedding when we went to the studio, we went to the studio the night before his wedding. It was God designed,” he said.
