Afrobeats Singer Divine Ikubor, generally perceived as Rema, has advanced back to his hometown of Benin, Edo State, fully expecting his profoundly anticipated homecoming show.

On Tuesday, Rema’s record name, Mavin Records, shared a video on X (previously Twitter) displaying the artist’s appearance.

The accompanying post featured an enthusiastic message: “Benin, your illustrious son; The Prince of Afrobeats – Rema is Home!”

Rema initially rose to fame with a viral freestyle on Instagram in 2018, performing D’Prince’s song “Gucci Gang,” and officially embarked on his music career in 2019 with the release of his debut single, “Dumebi.” Since then, he has established himself as a leading figure in the Afrobeats genre, captivating audiences both locally and globally.

The eagerly awaited show is planned for August 30 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Arena.

This event was first announced by the “Ozeba” artist in July, sparking significant excitement among fans.

This homecoming show follows a previous effort by Lead representative Godwin Obaseki to have Rema in December 2023, which was deferred because of medical problems.
