The Catholic Bishops of the Owerri Ecclesiastical Province have stated that President Bola Tinubu’s reforms have not given Nigerians the promised renewed hope.
The Ministers saw that the changes had rather brought about rising inflation, craving, and fury.
This is expressed in the communiqué given throughout the end of the week following their two-day gathering at Sacrosanct Heart Peaceful/Retreat Center in Orlu, which was endorsed by the Administrator and SecretaryMost Rev. Lucius Ugorji and Most Rev. Augustine Echema, respectively.
According to the Bishops, “Our nation, Nigeria, continues to face many social and economic challenges that bring untold hardship to our people.
“The reforms introduced at the inception of the current administration have not brought the promised renewed hope. Instead, inflation continues to skyrocket and hunger and anger continue to grow.
“Despite calls by the government for the people to sacrifice and bear patiently the hard times, there seems to be no corresponding example of prudent spending on the part of the leaders at all levels of government.
Talking about the continuous public yearning strike, the Catholic Priests commented that the youths are supported to be shocked by the country’s falling apart circumstance.
The Diocesans expressed that until there is coordinated work to reinforce political institutions, Nigerians will keep on battling with unfortunate administration and financial security.
They encouraged Nigerian residents to make changes considering the difficult times everybody is confronting, accentuating that this will mean expressing no to any ruinous acts, in addition to other things.
