The current year's Udiroko celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21, in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, corresponding with the festival of Isese Day.

Pictures and recordings from this year’s Udiroko celebration are starting to surface on social media. A video posted on the festival’s Instagram account includes notable Yoruba entertainers, including Yomi Fash Lanso, Laide Bakare, Shola Kosoko, and Foluke Daramola, who are at present in Ekiti State for the event.

The celebration, which started in 1310 during the rule of Oba Awamaro, addresses the debut social occasion of the precursors of Ado Ekiti upon their appearance in the town after an extended excursion from Benin. The name Udiroko is gotten from the area of its most memorable festival, which occurred underneath an Iroko tree at the royal residence of the then authoritative Oba.

In 2022, the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe, discredited claims that the Udiroko celebration is related with worshipful admiration.
